He confessed to having detonated his Giovanni Vincenti farmhouse, 51, stopped during the night on charges of causing the collapse of Quargnento in which three firefighters died. And he said he did it to collect the insurance money he had on the mortgage. His wife Antonella Patrucco has also been investigated on the loose. "I didn't want to kill anyone," Vincenti defended himself. But the investigators in any case challenge him not only the arson disaster but also the multiple voluntary murder (as well as the voluntary injuries for the two firemen and the carabiniere who were injured). The owner in fact did not warn the rescuers already on the spot for the first faint explosion in the annex that there were five other cylinders in the main building programmed to burst at one thirty. There would be half an hour to get to safety. "I didn't say anything because I was upset," he said. And it was a massacre.
Vincenti collapsed after six hours of interrogation before the police of the provincial command of Alessandria and the magistrates of the prosecutor's office, the prosecutor Elisa Frus and the chief prosecutor Enrico Cieri.
Precisely the economic situation of man and wife – exposed to the banks for hundreds of thousands of euros – had been one of the elements that led investigators to investigate the owners. In particular, the men of the weapon, led by Michele Lorusso, discovered that in the past few years Vincenti had no longer paid for home insurance. But in August the man had not only reactivated it but had also extended the policy to a ceiling of one and a half million euros, including the payment of damages also for "third party malicious". This in fact was the plan: to simulate a vendetta from the many potential people we could have with him. For the many debts left around or "out of envy", as he had suggested to the investigators himself. Vincenti has purchased several gas cylinders in times and stores. Then he borrowed a hose from a neighbor to cut the railings and pretend to be a break-in. On Monday afternoon he placed two cylinders in a smaller building and five in the main one. He opened the valves to make the environment saturate with gas and set the timers – the ones used to start the Christmas tree lights – so that at one-thirty they triggered the spark that could blow up all. Due to an error in the device setting, however, a first flare occurred when the clock marked "00:00". A small blast able to make a hole in the roof, which let the gas out and prevent the collapse of the smaller building. And it was however a trap for Antonino Candido, Marco Triches and Matteo Gastaldo, killed by the second explosion.
During a search at Vincenti's house yesterday afternoon, the timer for the use of the timer was found above the bedroom dresser: an overwhelming test before which the man could no longer deny his responsibilities.Responsibility that according to Vincenti investigators shares with his wife, under investigation for the same crimes. In the video footage of the area's cameras, in fact, we see that there is also in the car that goes back and forth from the farmhouse that day. At the moment, however, despite the obvious connivance, not with certain evidence of his involvement in the plan and that is why, unlike her husband, she was not taken to prison.

Faced with the accusations against his parents, his son Stefano Vincenti limits himself to saying: "I have no information to give, the investigators are investigating. I can't say anything "

The turning point in the investigations came precisely on the day when the funeral of the three firemen took place.
"We need to understand why and who did this," the provincial commander Roberto Marchioni thundered from the altar of the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Mark, giving voice to the "rage" of the fire brigade. "You must catch them, you must do everything to catch them", was the request of the families to the premier Giuseppe Conte, "moved" in front of the "long embrace of the community to these boys and their courageous colleagues who risk their lives every day to guarantee the security of all of us ".
During the night the answers arrived.
Giuliano Dodero also wanted to attend the funeral. The injured foreman. "Courage, let us be courageous. In the face of every twist in this world and of this life, our strength lies in not making us be contaminated by evil, by tares but by persevering in good".

At the current press conference in Alexandria details of the Monday tragedy turnaround, chief prosecutor Cieri provides the details. Excluding the hassle of killing, Vincenti wanted to damage the building but was nevertheless criticized for multiple murder because he did not warn rescuers of the presence of 5 gas cylinders. For the investigators the proof is overwhelming: the timer purchased in a shop in Alexandria is the one for Christmas tree lights. At home they found the instruction booklet: a fact that caused Vincenti to collapse. The timer, it was explained, was set at 1.30 but accidentally there was also a setting at midnight. This led to the first modest explosion which alerted the fire brigade. The explosion had to be only one but the error in programming the timer, connected to the gas cylinders, caused the tragedy.
The prosecutor Cieri adds "Vincenti could have avoided the tragedy. That night he was informed by a carabiniere that the first fire was almost broken Vincenti did not say that inside the house there were five other tanks that continued to release gas. around 1, there would have been half an hour to avoid the tragedy ".

During the night the Provincial Command of Alexandria issued a statement: "At the end of close and articulated investigations, we proceeded to arrest a suspect of crime against a subject held responsible for the crimes of arson, murder, and voluntary injuries".

Throughout the day there were investigations and investigations of elements related to the investigations – coordinated by the chief prosecutor of Alexandria Enrico Cieri (investigates the crimes of multiple homicide, injuries, malicious collapse) and conducted by the colonel's men Michele Angelo Lorusso – that in the end they tightened the circle around a person who is currently under pressure by the investigators at the headquarters of the carabinieri command.

A turning point perhaps arrived just on the day when the funerals of the three firefighters who died in the explosion caused by some tanks connected to a timer were celebrated. A tearful crowd had given the last farewell to morning Antonino, Marco is Matteo, the three firemen killed. Thousands of people close to family and friends of the three victims, who demanded justice.

"We need to understand why and who did this", the provincial commander thundered from the altar of the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Mark Roberto Marchioni, giving voice to the "anger" of the fire brigade. "You have to catch them, you have to do everything to catch them", was the request of the families to the premier Giuseppe Conte, "touched" by the "long embrace of the community to these boys and their courageous colleagues who risk their lives every day to guarantee the safety of all of us".

A few hours later, perhaps, in another barracks, that of the carabinieri, the request found an answer. Even to the words of Giuliano Dodero, the foreman who, also wounded, had asked to leave the hospital to participate in the funeral. "Courage, let us be courageous. In the face of every twist in this world and of this life, our strength lies in not making us be contaminated by evil, by tares but by persevering in good".

He appealed to the confidentiality of any change, Stefano Vincenti, son of Giovanni, the owner of the farmhouse destroyed by the explosion in the night between Monday and Tuesday. "I have no information to give, the investigators are investigating. I can't say anything"
