Vincenti, 55, is an entrepreneur, a few years ago he was the owner of a website for travel organization. In the past he had founded and managed a riding school not far from the exploded house which he had already sold for some years. He could not sell the house in Via San Francesco d'Assisi in Quargnento, which he had left a couple of years ago to move to the center of Alessandria. Earlier today he had been heard four times by the carabinieri and had reported having had economic problems for some time. It was found that the house was insured, but when the prosecutor was asked when the insurance was concluded and the amount, the magistrate replied: "No comment".
The day after the tragedy, Vicenti had spoken to the journalists: "It is from last night that towards tears – he had said – that I try to understand. I am living in a dramatic way, I am destroyed by pain for these three boys who died under the rubble of my house where we lived in harmony and love so many beautiful years ". And he added: "We are suffering a great pain, I, my wife, my family for these firemen who have remained under the rubble and for their families. This is destroying our lives, we cannot make a right" , he reiterates.
The man also said he had provided the police with "some names" of people who might have had a reason to hurt him. He had also reported having suffered arson in the past and the killing of dogs he owned: "Pure and simple envy", to which he attributed the resentments towards him.
After the first outbreak, the night of the tragedy, a neighbor had telephoned him to tell him what was happening at his home. "Then they did me a spite," this is his answer, as reported by the same neighbor.
The turning point comes after the day of the State funeral for Marco Triches, Matteo Gastaldo and Antonino Candido, which saw the participation of thousands of people in Alessandria. Also present was the premier Giuseppe Conte who, after the funeral ceremony, went off to talk for a few minutes with the prosecutor of Alessandria Enrico Cieri who is coordinating the investigations. Just in Conte the mother of one of the three victims, Antonino Candido, had turned to tears: "You have to catch them, you have to do everything you can to catch them", he had told the premier hugging him at the end of the mass.
