Citroen C5 Aircross plug-in hybrid how is it made?
PLUG-IN HYBRID SYSTEM The heart of the SUV Citroen C5 Aircross Hybrid is the plug-in hybrid system, similar to that of the Peugeot 3008 and 508 hybrid sisters. Specifically we have a heat engine PureTech 180 associated with electrical unit from 80 kW, which develops a total power of 225 CV to the front wheels and one torque of 320 Nm available immediately.
The motor is associated with the e-EAT8 electrified automatic transmission, which is an evolution of the EAT8 transmission with optimized entries thanks to oil-bath multi-disc clutch.
The plug-in hybrid SUV also has the function Brake that allows to amplify the deceleration of the vehicle without pressing the brake pedal to increase the autonomy in ZEV mode. This system also allows a energy recovery available during braking and deceleration phases, unlike the thermal versions. This function allows you to partially recharge the battery and increase the autonomy in electric mode.
Citroen C5 Aircross Hybrid 3 driving modes: Electric (ZEV), Hybrid and Sport
The central console integrates a mode selector, to the right of the automatic gearshift lever, which allows the driver to choose between different traction modes thanks to the combined or distinct action of the thermal and electric engines: Electric (ZEV), Hybrid is Sport.
The electric motor is powered by a lithium battery from 13.2 kWh, High Voltage type 200 V. It allows a range of well 50 real km, according to WLTP cycle, at a maximum speed of 135 km / h. The battery is guaranteed for eight years or 160,000 km.
Can be recharged with a standard domestic socket, between 4 hours (with Green'up Legrand type 14A socket) e 7 hours (with standard socket). With a 32A Wall Box, purchased or rented, and with the optional 7.4 kW charger, battery charging is accelerated and requires less than 2 hours.
