In the video, of which we report a brief extract, the two nurses first fill the testicles of the dog with some liquid using a syringe and then throw them on the floor making them bounce on the wall as if it were two balls of gum. And, they don't pay, they use them to test themselves in juggling numbers. All this between laughter and jokes, regardless of the total lack of respect for the animal undergoing surgery.
In another video, the nurses make fun of a cat whose ears have been removed due to an infirmation that made him deaf: while it is still under the effect of anesthesia, the two beat causing a loud sound to taunt him deafness and launch a survey asking if it is "a cat or a seal".
The scenes took place on the premises of Ohana VetCare in the area of Pasir Ris, in Singapore, as confirmed by a note published on Facebook by the same veterinary clinic: «The video showed totally inappropriate behavior for people working in the veterinary sector, where our primary objective is always to guarantee the welfare of all animals. We talked to the nurses and asked them to remove the video from their social media account. We have also decided to suspend them with immediate effect as we further study the incidents recorded in their video ».
However, it is unclear whether the two veterinary nurses will be fired, as well as loudly asked by the many animal rights activists who have polemized their behavior, or if, as mentioned by the clinic, that gesture is to be considered as a "gesture of immaturity" by adding: "These actions do not reflect the standards of the clinic. We have a strict policy to treat each individual patient with respect. To further increase our level of assistance for animals, we will conduct more staff training on good patient management skills to ensure an environment without fear for their well-being ".
