51 people in trouble, in 14 accused of 416 bis


Swindles for the elderly and money used to favor – according to the prosecution – the Contini Camorra clan. Fifty-one people were investigated in the maxi-operation "Condor" conducted by the police of the provincial command of Milan.

From the early hours of Friday morning, the military are in fact executing – between Naples, Milan and abroad – two precautionary custody orders issued by the magistrate in Naples at the request of the district anti-mafia directorate against fifty-one people accused in various capacities of "criminal association for the purpose of committing more fraudulent offenses to the detriment of elderly people".

For fourteen of them the aggravating circumstance of 416 bis is expected – the mafia-type association – for having "favored the Contini Camorra clan", the ruling leg for years in the San Carlo all'Arena district, in the center of Naples. For seventeen of the suspects, however, there is the aggravating circumstance of transnationality.

According to the first information learned, in fact, the money and jewels of the deceit to the elderly – many of which scored in Milan – ended up in the coffers of the clan, who used them to carry on their illicit affairs.

The base of the group, again according to what has been gathered so far, was in a building in the center of the Neapolitan city, which had been transformed into a real "home" to organize the blows and make a return on revenues.
