The E19 highway at Nimy was reopened to traffic Thursday around 4 am in both directions after the crash of a tanker truck that paralyzed the axle all day Wednesday.
Trucks blocked in the traffic jam, however, spent the night there, the drivers having reached their driving time. The traffic coming from France was thus disturbed again Thursday morning, the trucks encroaching on the band of right. Federal police said teams were sent on-site to force trucks to leave.
On the secondary network, trucks parked along the industrial road have also been reported.
However, the situation has not improved as a result. Two accidents occurred on the E19-E42 near Quaregnon in the direction of Valenciennes-Brussels and Obourg in the direction of Brussels-Valenciennes caused queues of ten kilometers, resulting in an hour of loss of life in the corks.
And to top it off, a new accident occurred around 8:20 on the E42 at Bois d'Haine in the direction of Mons-Namur-Liège, involving two cars and a truck in the left band. The left and middle bands are clogged and the situation is dangerous, reports the federal police.
