TheEnergir company went on site to plug the leak. The repair time was estimated at a few hours. The work was completed at approximately 12:30 pm and the inspection in the adjacent buildings did not reveal the presence of gas.

The Sherbrooke Fire Protection Service was also present in the morning. The event had forced the evacuation of ten buildings as a preventive measure.

Hydro-Sherbrooke had interrupted the electricity services in the quadrangle formed by King Street West, Belvedere North, Frontenac and Wellington. As a result, some traffic lights were in flashing mode or did not work and motorists were advised to avoid the area.

The parking lots of La Grenouillère and Webster had to be closed.

Suspended courses
