"Incomprehensible"

Everything had started well for the young driver on the legendary Circuit du Castellet. In free practice, Reshad is imperial and sets the tone by finishing first.A big satisfaction, but unfortunately of short duration. In qualifying, the hopes of the young driver to become champion of France collapse.

Reshad finds his car unstable and is unable to make the most of it. He must be content with a distant 17th time. "It's incomprehensible"says the Reunionnais, who can not explain where these mechanical problems come from.
Thierry, his dad, displays the same disarray. He came especially from La Reunion, as at each of his son's competitions, with the secret hope of seeing him crowned Champion of France. "It's hard, but it's like that, it's the race", he says a bit fatalistic.

The duel did not take place

Hadrien David, his direct competitor, could not dream more beautiful introduction. The leader of the French Championship F4 dominates the qualifying session and ensures a double pole position for the following races. The title can not escape him anymore.

The expected duel between Hadrien David and Reshad De Gerus, the two leaders out of reach of the championship of France, will not take place.

The Reunion rider makes an exit from the track and gives up during the first race. He returns with panache in the second race where, last party, he finishes in twelfth place and demonstrates his driving talent.

If you recognize a champion with his ability to pull himself together, to re-motivate himself after a failure, then Reshad De Gerus has a good year ahead of him. The young Reunion champion manages to mourn the title of Champion of France. It is aligned this Sunday at the start of the last race without any pressure and takes the opportunity to ride and have fun.

Rome and Abu Dhabi

From now on, the young champion's head is elsewhere. First in Rome, Italy, where he was chosen to represent France at the Olympic Games on November 1st and 2nd, then in Abu Dhabi where he was retained by Renault to perform F3 tests on October 27th and 28th. .

On Monday, Reshad will return to FFSA Academy at Le Mans to continue his studies and training. "Reshad is an excellent student, he is conscientious, respectful, discreet and hardworking"says the director of studies at FFSA Academy.

In terms of competition, Reshad does not give up anything. Next season, he hopes to line up at the start of the first F3 race. Thierry, his dad, agrees and says confident that the partners will be there. Good news, because a season of F3 costs between 400 000 and 500 000 euros against 100 000 euros for the F4.
