Olivier Burri resists … for the moment

Olivier Burri is still racing in the lead at the Rallye du Valais. Friday night, after 11 specials out of 18, the pilot of Belprahon (Skoda Fabia R5) lead the way in the overall standings, just ahead of the Valaisan Mike Coppens (Skoda Fabia R5) who points to 6''4. The provisional podium is completed by Ticinese Ivan Ballinari (Skoda Fabia R5), who is 1'03''7 behind. Michael Burri is at the foot of the podium, 1'32''2 behind his father and 28''5 behind Ivan Ballinari. The Ajoulot Jean-Marc Salomon (Ford Fiesta R5) must for the moment be content with a 12th provisional rank with more than a minute behind a top 10. The Rally of Valais, the last round of the championship of Switzerland, ends Saturday. If Olivier Burri can legitimately hope to win, Jean-Marc Salomon could well become vice-champion of Switzerland rally. / mle
