Marseilles: four detainees escape during a transfer under police escort



MISCELLANEOUS – Four men detained at the Baumettes prison in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) managed to make the beautiful Monday evening during a transfer between the court and the prison. The police escorting them would not have noticed anything.

They had spent several hours at the Marseilles High Court (Bouches-du-Rhône) and had to join the Baumettes prison where they are in pretrial detention. On Monday night, however, these four detainees never joined their cell in the famous prison.

It was the prison officers who realized, once arrived at the prison, that four detainees were missing.

On Monday evening, the union FO-Penitentiary posted this message on the social networks: "4 detainees escaped during a transfer from the court to the CP des Baumettes under police escort, 3 detainees were in criminal procedure, 1 in correctional procedure" .

The circumstances of this escape must be specified. These include whether detainees were handcuffed during the transfer and when they escaped.
