Earthquake 3.3 earthquake swarm off the coast of Chioggia

VENICE. One earthquake swarm has affected Italy with minimal earthquakes that have also struck in the Adriatic Sea before Chioggia (Venice). According to the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology the quake recorded at 12.28 was of magnitude 3.3 and was detected at eight kilometers deep. No damage to people or things has been recorded.

An earthquake shock of magnitude 4.4 was instead registered at 6:31 in the Tyrrhenian Sea, off Scalea (Cosenza), in Calabria. The epicenter was located at a depth of 11 kilometers. There is no damage either in Scalea or in the surrounding centers, but the quake was clearly felt by the population that poured into the street.

The Ingv then recorded another four aftershocks in the area, which were not felt by the population.

A slight jolt of magnitude 2.2 was recorded at 11.45 also along the Tuscan coast. The epicenter was located at a depth of 8 kilometers, not far from the beaches of Tirrenia, between the provinces of Pisa and Livorno.
