It's with a longer video than most movies that Disney has decided to present the entire Disney + catalog that will be available from November 12th.
It is in a little less than a month that Disney + officially opens its doors. The future SVOD platform for the entertainment giant intends to strike fast and strong to establish itself among the market leaders. For this, hundreds of works will be proposed from D-Day, from the catalogs of Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm.
Mid-October, Disney has also unveiled the program that will be offered from the outset to its American customers (Disney + will be available from November 12 in the USA, but also in Canada, New Zealand and … in the Netherlands. the rest of Europe will have to wait until the first half of 2020), in a series of tweets. Three hours have been necessary for Disney to publish everything.
A video as long as a movie
And it is also about this duration that you will need to overcome the "trailer" dedicated to Disney + catalog. Indeed, in parallel with its tweets, the platform has also posted a very long video presenting each content that will be online the day of opening. Note that this is the North American catalog, essentially: the one that will be proposed for France will be significantly different.
A rich video, therefore, but in reality difficult to exploit: the channel did not bother to propose a timestamp that would allow access to specific content in the video (each work has a presentation of a fortnight about twenty seconds). On the other hand, the video presentation of the catalog follows the order of the tweets. For lack of better, we will be satisfied!
Disney + will offer four main types of content: movies, cartoons, TV series and documentaries. The notoriety of the works presented will also be very variable. Next to the tenors that are The Lion King, The little Mermaid or Aladdin will be much more confidential titles like The toad and the schoolmaster, Perri or Darby O'Gill and the Farfadets.
