Carlos Sainz wins the fourth stage of the rally of Morocco


Carlos Sainz won the fourth stage of the rally of Morocco.

The Spanish placed his Buggy Mini 4 minutes and 32 seconds behind the new leader of the rally, the South African Giniel De Villiers who took advantage of the setbacks of Nasser Al Attiyah.

The Qatari, the winner of the last Dakar, has had some troubles and lost a lot of time. He decided to join the bivouac by road, and saw his hopes of victory faint.

Spaniard Fernando Alonso, the former Formula 1 driver, was able to hit the road, 27 minutes behind the pack, he placed seventh overall after an impressive performance.

In a hotly contested motorcycle category, Goncalves finished the stage in 3 hours 37 minutes and 6 seconds, exactly one minute ahead of Ricky Brabec and 91 seconds ahead of Andrew Thomas Short, third.
