Major League hitters punctuated a year of power by breaking the most home run mark in a season.

Jonathan Villar, of the Baltimore Orioles, hit home run number 6,106 on Wednesday to break the 6,015 record set in 2017.

And more vuelacercas come. The record was surpassed when 18 days remain of the regular campaign. The rise of homers in recent seasons is tied to the change in the balls, modification that makes them travel more.
Villar's three-run lead against Dodgers pitcher Caleb Fergunson at Camden Yards was the twenty-second of the day in the majors. Baltimore went into action on Wednesday allowing 279 stakes, a new brand.

Mets rookie Pete Alonso started the day with his 47th homer, leader in the majors.
The Minnesota Twins have the most collective amount with 277 after Jorge Polanco's home run against Washington ace Stephen Strasburg at Target Field. The Twins total is the highest amount for a team in a season.
In August, the big ones beat the monthly home run mark for the third consecutive year by hitting 1,228, Elias Sports Bureau reported Sunday. This exceeded 1,142 in June and 1,135 in May.
Last year, 5,585 were connected.
In 2017, Alex Gordon broke the previous mark of 5,694 set in 200 during the height of the Steroid Era.
