Leclerc beats Sainz at the end of a rugged Monza FP1

On Friday in Monza began going through water. The forecasts speak of rain this day and Sunday. And, although it is not expected to coincide with the race, the teams tested more than other times before the possibility of these conditions being repeated.

Grosjean, whose future in Haas and Formula 1 is still in the air, was the first to leave the wet circuit. The conditions were not the best and Norris, who rides the new Renault engine and will penalize on the grid, had a slight excursion outside the track.

Norris himself was one of the first who scored time and led the table in the first minutes. Kvyat the leadership took away while numerous departures and corrections were repeated, and the first accident of the grand prize suffered Kimi raikkonen. The Finn lost control of Alfa Romeo in The parabolic and ended up trumpeting and against the protections, causing the appearance of the red flag.

Just when the session stopped, Sainz a top was also marked, although Madrid did not leave the asphalt and could return to the box without problems. A few minutes later, when there were still 57 left, the traffic light turned green and it was precisely Sainz who left first.

The route began to fill up at that point, but it hadn't been four minutes when another accident returned the red flag to the track. Perez it came out in the variant of Ascari and damaged his car, which had to be removed by the commissioners.

That left only 47 minutes of session, but the resumption did not last long. Gasly he trumpeted in the first chicane and his Toro Rosso stood just over the big sausage inside curve 2, without his wheels touching the ground. Unlike the previous two incidents, he was able to continue and not much time wasted.

The asphalt was drying up, although the tops and exits did not stop there. Mercedes finally decided to start rolling after having given only one installation lap in the first hour. The time table was changing a lot as the state of the circuit improved and, although in its first attempt it had to cut the first chicane, Hamilton Leader was placed in the absence of 20 minutes.

The Ferrari played it out with dry when there were eight minutes left and the track was empty, something that their rivals imitated in recent bars.

Although the conditions were not the best, Sainz put himself first thanks to a 1: 28.211 mark with the softest compound, but Leclerc beat him by three tenths taking the first final place. Bottas trumpeted on his last attempt and Hamilton finished fourth behind Charles and the two McLaren.
