After several leaks that have allowed us to know its appearance ahead of time the convertible version of the Ferrari 812 Superfast It is officially here. Finally with the name of Ferrari 812 GTS This version brings the classic sports formula with the engine in front, a V12 propeller with the illustrious Maranello seal and 800 hp to reach levels that very few convertibles can offer. In fact, Ferrari speaks of this model as the "most powerful production spider in the market" but also the most versatile, since it has a retractable rigid roof.
His new name and release date have not been a coincidence. This model pays tribute to Spider models with V12 engine that marked an era within Ferrari, fulfilling 50 years of the last premiere of them, the 365 GTS4 of 1969. Since then, a series model of this class had not been launched at Ferrari, only four limited editions: the 550 Barchetta Pininfarina in 2000, the South American in 2005, the SA Aperta in 2010 and the F60 America.
But this model leads to a convertible power levels difficult to match, with a atmospheric V12 6.5 engine that as his coupé brother has 800 hp of power and 718 Nm of maximum torque and a red area of the lap counter that is located at 8,900 rpm.
As in the case of the F8 Spider, with which it will share the leading role in the Frankfurt Motor Show, the rear has been modified to house the rigid retractable roof and incidentally protect the occupants with the increasingly common double hump system in the middle of which there is a kind of rear screen that acts as a windbreak and that can be raised or lowered even with the roof closed. A retractable roof that hides in just 14 seconds as long as they do not exceed 45 km / h. The aerodynamics This Ferrari has worked even more to offer not only greater efficiency but also greater passenger comfort to the point of making possible a conversation with the top down without too many problems, thanks for example to small L-shaped fins in the upper corners of the windshield that distribute the air.
With the installation of this convertible system and chassis reinforcements the 812 GTS has won 75 kg more than the 812 Superfast that leave the set with a total weight of 1,600 kg. With all this this model is able to do 0 to 100 km / h in less than 3 seconds and 0 to 200 in 8.3, to reach a maximum speed of 340 km / h.
As in the most recent Ferrari models the inside stands out for a sporty and minimalist design focused on the driver, which could not miss the famous manettino to choose the most suitable driving mode to enjoy at the wheel. The classic lap counter with a clear role in the scorecard is flanked by two screens and in the part of the co-pilot there is a third inserted in the dashboard offering access to the multimedia system.
There are no official prices for this Ferrari 812 GTS, but it is expected that where 400,000 euros.
