Dorian remains a hurricane to Canada | The world | Dw

Hurricane Dorian maintains the maximum sustained winds of 90 miles per hour (150 km / h) as it approaches the coasts of Massachusetts (USA) heading to Canada after having made landfall this morning at Cape Hatteras (North Carolina) .

The hurricane caused heavy rains in the United States that left up to 800 people trapped on an island in North Carolina and more than 200,000 without power, as it moved to Canada along the east coast.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC), based in Miami, predicts that Dorian, which devastated some islands of the Bahamas this week with winds of 185 miles per hour (259 miles per hour), will have "some strength" until Saturday or Sunday night, when it will become a post-tropical cyclone with hurricane winds while it is near or over eastern Canada.

On the other hand, tropical storm Gabrielle gained strength again after becoming a tropical post-cyclone in the eastern Atlantic.
