Knee injury last week, Kelly Olynyk will not be able to play the World Cup basketball, according to Adrian Wojnarowski ESPN channel.
The 28-year-old was expected to miss the call for a week after his injury in the third quarter of Canada's pre-season match against Nigeria.
It is expected, however, that the member of the Miami Heat is ready for the start of the season in the NBA. The Torontonian averaged 10 points per game last year with the Florida squad.
For Canada, it's another hard blow. R.J. Barrett, Jamal Murray, Andrew Wiggins and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are also notable for their absence.
Montreal champion Chris Boucher, the Toronto Raptors champion, left the team's camp for personal reasons.
The FIBA World Cup will be held from August 31 to September 15 in China.
