Violent thunderstorms hit Wednesday, August 28, late afternoon, the region of Taroudant. Local authorities report a death toll of seven dead and several missing, due to the flooding of several wadis.

"The heavy rains resulting from these storms have caused serious floods that have taken their toll on their passage," said, contacted by Le360, a source close to the authorities of Taroudant, which reports a provisional record of 7 deaths and several missing.

"The waters of the wadis – which were dried out because of the drought – suddenly took away everything in their path," according to the same source, which does not exclude that these sudden bad weather caused casualties.

Relief, including those of the civil protection, were sent urgently to the scene, in an area located 90 km from Ouarzazate.

"One does not exclude the hypothesis that people have perished in these floods", indicates the same source.

It should be remembered that the national meteorology published, Wednesday, August 28, 2019, late afternoon, a warning bulletin concerning strong thunderstorms that affect locally, Wednesday and Thursday, August 29, several provinces of the kingdom.
