TheUS media reported Friday that Sirhan Bishara, the man who murdered US Senator Robert F. Kennedy, was stabbed by a fellow prisoner in the California jail where he is incarcerated. Currently in the hospital, his health would be stable, according to the New York Times. The circumstances of the incident have not yet been clarified.
Sirhan Bishare shot down US Senator Robert F. Kennedy – brother of 35th US President John F. Kennedy – on June 5, 1968 when he had just won the primaries for the presidency of the Democratic Party.
According to reports at the time, Sirhan Bishara, a Jerusalem-born Palestinian, acted in protest at the senator's pro-Israel stance.
Initially sentenced to death, Bishara was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1972. Since then, he has been tried to pardon 15 times, but to no avail. His next audition is scheduled for 2021.
