Tour of Spain – Jakobsen ahead of Bennett at the photo-finish

Fabio Jakobsen won the 4th stage of Tour of Spain at El Puig, his first success on a Grand Tour. His team Deceuninck – Quick Step played very well in the end by attacking Rémi Cavagna 6km from the goal, forcing the other formations to roll back to him. Once the French took over under the red flame, the Belgian formation perfectly launched Jakobsen who seemed to be heading for an easy victory. It was not counting on Sam Bennett (Bora-Hansgrohe), returned from nowhere in the last meters, but the photo-finish gave the Danish winner in front of the Irishman.

Behind these two men, Max Walscheid (Sunweb) took 3rd place ahead Fernando Gaviria (UAE Team Emirates), Luka Mezgec (Mitchelton-Scott) and Marc Sarreau (Groupama EOD). There is no change in the general classification, Nicolas Roche (Sunweb) remains leader with 2 '' ahead of Nairo Quintana (Movistar) and 8 on Rigoberto Uran (EF Education First). But it is likely to evolve tomorrow on the 5th stage whose arrival is judged at the top of the Astrophysical Observatory of Javalambre.
