TICAD-7: Attijariwafa bank Seals Partnership with Japanese Bank Mizuho Bank

On the sidelines of the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), held in Yokohama, Japan, from August 28 to 30, a partnership agreement was signed. between the Moroccan banking group Attijariwafa bank and the Japanese bank Mizuho Bank.

The agreement was signed by Mohamed El Kettani, Chief Executive Officer of Attijariwafa bank Group, and Hiroshi Nagamine, Managing Director, Head of EMEA at Mizuho Bank and Mizuho Financial Group.

Under this memorandum, both parties commit to formalize a framework for cooperation to promote the sharing of good practices in the banking, financial and business fields.

The terms of this agreement stipulate, in particular, cooperation in the areas of corporate banking, international trade operations, project finance and capital markets.

In a statement from the Moroccan group, Mohamed El Kettani said that "the signing of this memorandum comes to complete the networking that our group has undertaken with major international banking institutions to better serve our customers worldwide. An additional milestone was set today with the Mizuho Bank group, which is one of the flagships of the Japanese banking industry. I am confident that this partnership will create value for our respective customers. "

For his part, Mr. Hiroshi Nagamine, Managing Executive Officer, Head of EMEA, Mizuho Bank & Mizuho Financial Group affirmed that the Attijariwafa bank group "is the ideal partner to expand our network because of its strong pan-African roots and its leadership in North, West and Central Africa. The choice of Attijariwafa bank is also dictated by the fact that it is a pioneering institution in innovative financing solutions able to meet the increasingly complex needs of operators on the African continent. This agreement will provide us with greater flexibility and support for our clients by accessing Attijariwafa bank's extensive network, the expertise of its teams and their knowledge of the markets in Africa ".

With this new agreement, the Attijariwafa bank group fits perfectly in the spirit of TICAD and widens the field of cooperation between African and Japanese operators.
