The trial of the "brains" of the attacks of 11-September will be held on January 11, 2021 by decision of a military judge, according to the information reported this Friday by the American newspaper New York Times.
The five men, including Khaled Sheikh Mohammed (KSM), transferred to Guantánamo, who is considered the mastermind of these attacks, have been held for fifteen years by the US military authorities. In particular, they risk the death penalty.
This is the first time that a trial judge has set a trial start date in this case, despite the prosecutors' requests to the two previous judges since 2012. This is one of the most complex of American judicial history.
These five men were presented at the Guantánamo Court on May 5, 2012, in a courtroom specially dedicated to national security cases.
