Charles Leclerc and Ferrari have signed an indisputable Pole Position at the qualifying round of the Belgian Grand Prix 2019. With a loop in 1: 42.519, Monegasque ahead Sebastian Vettel (+0.748) and Lewis Hamilton (+0.763).During this session, the two Renault's Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Hülkenberg performed well with good 6th and 7th place finishes. The thinning interview during the EL3 was confirmed and it is nice to see the R.S.19 also easily access the Top 10.

On a resolutely motorized route, the French block has worked well and the chassis seems to find some punch in this configuration with low aerodynamic support. Unfortunately, the two cars of Enstone will have to undergo a penalty of 5 places on the grid, replacing them 10th and 12th. Daniel will then start behind the two Haas while Hulk will be behind his teammate and Lando Norris. The pace of Renault is much better than that of Grosjean and Magnussen, it will then quickly return to the Top 10 to get points.

For McLaren, the afternoon was much more complicated. In great shape before the summer break, the MCL34 does not seem to particularly appreciate the layout of Spa-Francorchamps. Lando Norris then ranks only 12th in Q2 but will take advantage of the penalty of 5 places attributed to both Renault to start 11th on the grid.

Carlos Sainz did not have the opportunity to defend his chance in Q2, trapped by the red flag at the end of Q1. While he needed a quick last lap, the Spaniard did not have time to cross the line before the neutralization. A frustrating 17th place, especially since, also penalized 5 places on the grid, he will start behind the two Williams.

See you tomorrow at 3:10 pm (French time) for the start of the 2019 Belgian Grand Prix!
