Rally in front of the Canadian Embassy of young Lebanese candidates for emigration


More than a hundred young Lebanese emigration candidates from Tripoli gathered yesterday in front of the Canadian embassy headquarters in Jal el-Dib (Metn) to demand that the country open their doors to them. .

In a statement released in the early evening, the Canadian Embassy reiterated that it did not directly accept emigration requests and called on the young candidates to consult the Embassy's website for all necessary information. to apply for emigration. He added that this procedure "aims to protect visa applicants from crooks and counterfeiters who may be the victims".

The spokeswoman also said that the embassy "does not ask any applicant for a visa to make any deposit of money or to transfer money through private companies."

A member of the embassy's diplomatic staff spoke directly to the youths in front of the embassy, ​​advising them to send a letter to the embassy containing their request. The diplomat said, "Canada respects the freedom of speech and assembly," before thanking the police "to have respected the peaceful nature of the protest movement."
