NEW TENDER CALLS FOR SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC ENERGY
PARIS (Reuters) – The French government announced Friday the launch of new bidding periods to develop some two gigawatts of solar photovoltaic energy, as part of the multi-year energy program launched in early 2019.
The government plans to increase solar PV generation capacity from 9.1 GW currently to 35.6 to 44.5 GW by 2028.
Two tendering periods will be open for photovoltaic ground projects, respectively in January 2020 (for 850 MW) and June 2020 (for 1 GW), said in a statement the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Solidarity.
Another period is planned for February 2020 for photovoltaic building projects for 300 MW, after an already planned period of 300 MW next October.
The specifications will be published soon on the website of the Energy Regulatory Commission, says the ministry.
