Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez has been on loan until the end of the season to Inter Milan, where he will try to revive after 18 months failed at Manchester United, announced Thursday the Italian club.
In Milan, Sanchez will find Romelu Lukaku, the Belgian striker who was his teammate in Manchester. He will also rediscover a championship in which he played for three seasons, at Udinese, from 2008 to 2011. In his last Italian season, Sanchez was voted best player of Serie A. He then joined Barcelona where he is stayed three years. He then moved to Arsenal where he shone again until joining Manchester United in the 2017-18 winter transfer window. But with the Red Devils, Sanchez (30 years and 130 selections with Chile) has gradually disappeared from the traffic, scoring only five goals in 45 games.
Inter does not give details of the operation, but according to the Italian press, the loan has no option to buy and provides for the payment of more than half of the Chilean salary by Manchester United. In the attack nerazzurra, Sanchez will be associated with his former teammate Lukaku, who signed this summer in Lombardy against 65 million euros. The Red Devils striker made his debut by scoring for the first day of Serie A in a one-off 4-0 encounter against promoted Lecce. Inter version Antonio Conte, new coach, is the first leader of a championship he has not won since 2010.
