Le Matin – Attijariwafa Bank Ivory Coast branch awarded for social action


The Ivorian Bank Corporation (SIB), a subsidiary of Attijariwafa Bank, was honored on Thursday in Abidjan for its efforts to consolidate a social environment conducive to development in Côte d'Ivoire.

The CEO of the SIB, Daouda Coulibaly, was raised to the rank of Commander in the National Order of Merit of Solidarity by the Ivorian Minister of Solidarity, Social Cohesion and the Fight Against Poverty, Mariatou Koné.

A medal was awarded on behalf of Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara, during the 2019 edition of the National Solidarity Day (JNS), under the theme "Solidarity, a citizen value for a peaceful Ivory Coast" .

According to a statement from the SIB, this distinction "reflects the recognition of the Ivorian Nation and welcomes the commitment of the SIB for the consolidation of a social environment conducive to the development of the country through the notable acts of the bank in the service of the community, especially during the regrettable floods that hit the populations in 2018, at the national level and more particularly the commune of Cocody in Abidjan ".

Speaking on this occasion, the DG of the SIB expressed gratitude to the President of Côte d'Ivoire for this mark of recognition, reaffirming the "readiness" to act whenever necessary, "in the name of the traditional African solidarity included in the foundations of our education ".

In Côte d'Ivoire, the National Solidarity Day celebrates, every 25th of August, the solidarity and magnifies the remarkable acts that contributed to its promotion and the reinforcement of the social cohesion at the local and national level. For the 2019 edition, a total of 23 personalities and citizens have been decorated in the National Order of Merit of Solidarity (6 Commanders, 9 Officers and 8 Knights).
