Fuel prices: unleaded and diesel fuel down

From 1 September, fuel prices will decrease. Five cents less for unleaded, or 1.48 euros compared to 1.53 euros in August; and less than three cents for diesel, or 1.29 euros compared to 1.32 euros in August. The price of the liquefied petroleum gas bottle is also down 25 cents, ie 16.48 euros instead of 16.76 euros for the bottle of 12.5 kg.

These maximum prices are the result of price developments which, overall, record decreases in August. For Brent crude oil, the average price was $ 58.80 per barrel, compared to $ 64.56 in July, a decrease of -8.9% in one month. The price is back below the $ 60 mark for the first time since January 2019, signaling fears about the global economy, notably due to trade tensions between China and the United States and the continued tensions in the Middle East.

Guadeloupe's Observatory of Prices, Margins and Revenues was previously informed of these developments.
