Fraud, corruption and conspiracy: Nathalie Normandeau released on several counts


Coup de theater, Friday morning, at the courthouse of Quebec. The Criminal and Penal Prosecutions Branch announced the abandonment of charges of fraud, corruption and conspiracy against former Liberal Minister Nathalie Normandeau and her co-accused.

Arrested more than three years ago, in the middle of a budget day with six other people suspected of having participated in a hidden political financing system, the former Deputy Prime Minister will nonetheless undergo a criminal trial and will have to respond to other charges, including breach of trust and fraud against the government.
