First official match of the WAC after the summer break

Wydad will face Sudanese Al Merreikh this Saturday in the first round of the Mohammed VI Club Cup at Al Merreikh stadium in Omdurman. The kickoff of this meeting will be given at 19h.
Players and technical staff left Mohammed V airport on Tuesday night after a final training session. A long journey awaited them, and this for a simple reason: the absence of direct flight linking Morocco to Sudan. So we had to stop in Dubai before heading to Khartoum. A journey of just over 12,000 km. After this long trip, the Moroccan delegation arrived at their destination on Wednesday at 5pm local time. The Red and Whites performed workouts on Thursday and Friday.
For his part, the Serbian coach Zoran Manojlovic will lead his first official meeting at the head of the champions of Morocco. A meeting far from a simple sinecure especially in light of the revanchist spirit that will animate the Sudanese players, recently eliminated in the preliminary round of the African Champions League by the Algerian club JS Kabylie. The difficulty that will accompany the debut of the wydadi neo-coach, also lies in the absence of executive players, including Salah Eddine Saidi (injured) and Ismail El Haddad (for administrative reasons). Climatic conditions will also play an important role. WAC players will face a thermometer that will reach 42 degrees and high humidity.
After a subscription campaign that has reached more than 5,000 bookings, Wydad will try to achieve a good result in this match to play the second act in good mood.
As a reminder, the Raja Casablanca will enter the running on September 21 against the Palestinian club Al Hilal Al Quds. While the third national representative in this competition, Safi Olympique, will face Errifaa of Bahrain on September 30th.
