The Chief Electoral Officer of Canada said Thursday that his organization will be ready for this fall's federal election, regardless of when it will be called.
The election will take place on October 21st, but the campaign can be officially launched at any time from September 1st to 15th.
Stéphane Perrault was able to see first-hand the state of preparations when he visited the Elections Canada distribution center in Ottawa. Material was loaded into 33 trucks to be shipped to returning offices across the country.
Perrault said leases have already been signed to ensure all offices will be open by September 1st.
Initiation documents will also be sent to schools across the country.
These documents are in great demand by teachers who want their students to follow the campaign and become familiar with the democratic process, Perrault added.
