Conservatives want to know if Liberals break pre-campaign rules | Elections Canada 2019


According to Kent, the Liberals have traveled the country to make partisan government announcements by inserting campaign messages inside official announcements and press releases.

What is equally disturbing, if not more so, is the fact that they have invited unelected Liberal Party candidates to these taxpayer-paid official announcements.adds Kent in a letter obtained by CBC.

Commissioner Yves Côté's office confirmed that it had received this letter, but, for reasons of confidentiality, refused to indicate whether an investigation had been opened or not.

Each complaint received is analyzed to determine if it corresponds to the Commissioner's mandatesaid the office at CBC. If measures are to be imposed by the Commissioner, they will be posted on our website.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's office criticized the Conservatives for voting against the Liberals' new campaign financing rules.

Our Government is committed to Canadians to take positive action to help the middle class, is it written in a statement.

Liberals also say respect the independence of the Commissioner of Elections Canada.
