China shows relaxation against the United States

China and the United States are discussing a possible resumption of bilateral trade talks, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday. Last week, Washington confirmed that a new round of negotiations was scheduled for September, but no detailed timetable has yet been made public. China, opposed to an escalation in the trade war with the United States, is willing to resolve the problem calmly, said the spokesman of the Chinese Ministry during a briefing. He also hinted that China would not immediately respond to the new customs measures announced last week by Donald Trump, while recalling that the country has retaliatory means if necessary.
