Charleroi clinches first away win by defeating Waasland-Beveren (0-4)

Charleroi won 0-4 (half-time: 0-1) in Waasland-Beveren, red lantern, on behalf of the sixth day of Jupiler Pro League on Saturday. The Carolos opened the scoring shortly before half-time by Ryota Morioka of Japan in the 38th, doubling Massimo Bruno's (52) pick.

On the hour (59th), Karim Belhocine's men added a third goal from Shamar Nicholson's feet. The 22-year-old Jamaican celebrated his first selection with the Zebras by finding the net.

At the 71st, Morioka, the first scorer, gave way to Kaveh Rezaei, the last recruit from Charleroi who found the Mambour after a spell at Club Brugge. The 27-year-old Iranian striker is on loan from the Brugge until the end of the season.

Five minutes after his comeback, David Henen has further increased the mark to set the final figures to 4 to 0.

Charleroi took the opportunity to move up to 9th place in the standings with 8 points.

For the first of Frenchman Arnauld Merlier as coach in place of Adnan Custovic, the business of Waasland-Beveren does not manage. The 47-year-old Frenchman, who previously held the position of sports director at Seraing (D1 Amateurs), will be able to count on the international break to work with his players who will only have scored one point out of 18.
