Saskatchewan did well at the Baseball Canada Cup, which featured Canada's top under-17 baseball players. With a 10-1 win over Manitoba, the Saskatchewan squad finished the tournament in fifth place.

Nova Scotia took top honors with Ontario in the final.

British Columbia finished third on the podium with a win over Quebec.

According to the president and CEO of the 2019 Baseball Canada Cup Organizing Committee, Cas Pielak, about 20 university and professional level scouts attended the various parts of the tournament that ended Sunday in Regina.

He also says that more and more opportunities are available for Canadian baseball players to pursue their careers at the professional level.

I think we have more than 100 Canadian players who play in professional teams, says Cas Pielak.

It was the first time Regina hosted the Baseball Canada Cup.
