On the night of Wednesday to Thursday, a fire caused severe damage to the telephone center of Conques-sur-Orbiel. Fixed lines, Internet access and mobile telephony have since been disrupted in 26 municipalities.
Since Thursday, August 29 at 7 pm, mobile telephony (3G and 4G technologies) is working again. Before working on rebuilding the site, the teams organize themselves to clean and decontaminate the building while ensuring strict compliance with the safety instructions. These tasks precede the inventory and equipment test.
The mobile is back, internet around September 6th
In parallel, the temporary means coming from Lanester – in Brittany – will be dispatched on the spot. Their routing begins at the end of this week. The first customer recoveries are expected to start mid-week (Tuesday / Wednesday) and continue until September 6th.
Fixed telephony will be restored at first and then the Internet.
All skills combined, forty Orange employees are mobilized to rehabilitate this central. They will be hard at work this weekend to prepare the activation of temporary means. A total of 2,676 Internet access and 803 landlines were interrupted in twenty-six municipalities.
