Kobe Goossens will become pro on the Belgian cycling team Lotto Soudal. The 23-year-old Belgian has signed a two-year contract for the 2020 and 2021 seasons, announced the WorldTour training on Thursday.
Goossens, who arrives from the Lotto Soudal hopeful team, made his cyclocross debut before fully dedicating himself to the road from 2018. Endowed with qualities when the road rises, he won the classification final of the Tour du Jura after having removed the first of the two stages. He also finished 3rd in the Circuit des Ardennes.
"The races with unevenness suit me well and I still hope to progress in this area"Goossens said on his team's website."Like Thomas De Gendt, I like to attack. I have a preference for big tours and stage races like Paris-Nice and Dauphine, these are the ones that fascinate me and in which I hope to sign good results in the future. Like many other cyclists, my ultimate dream is obviously the Tour de France."
This is the third official transfer for the Belgian team after Philippe Gilbert and John Degenkolb. In the opposite direction, Victor Campenaerts, Tiesj Benoot and Lawrence Naesen will leave the national lottery formation at the end of the season.
