BOUCHERVILLE | The motorcyclist shot dead last night in a quiet residential area of Boucherville, on the South Shore of Montreal, is the narcotrailer Ivan Silva, learned our Investigation Bureau.
"This murder is very significant on the scale of organized crime in Quebec," said Felix Séguin, journalist and columnist at QUB radio.
Silva would have been very well placed in the world of drug and cocaine importers in Canada. "He had, in the past, exceptional links with Colombian cartels that send their drugs through Mexican cartels," adds Séguin.
The assassination of Ivan Silva has all the appearance of a settlement. The Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL) transferred the investigation to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
Investigators from the Crimes Against the Person Division were tasked with shedding light on Silva's murder.
"We knew he was making alliances with certain people and close to other major Quebec criminals. Is it a murder that bears the trace of Mexican cartels or a business dispute that ended in the death of Ivan Silva? "Asks Felix Seguin.
Ivan Silva has already been accused of stabbing a man and his criminal record would be full. "This is a big size of organized crime that has just fallen," concludes our journalist.
